Why Gluten-free?
I started pursuing a gluten-free diet about 17 years ago but have never been completely gluten-free. For the past 2 months I’ve cut gluten completely out of my diet with a few bumps or two; however, I wanted to share a little about gluten-free diets because not everyone knows what it means to be gluten-free.
Being gluten-free doesn’t mean you are vegan. It means you don’t consume foods that contains wheat, because where there is wheat there is also gluten. You cannot separate gluten from wheat grain.
Having a gluten-free diet means you consume grains that are either naturally gluten-free or the gluten can be separated from this particular grain.
The reason why most people avoid gluten is because they experience an allergic reaction such as anxiety, stomach challenges and sinus pressure. Most people are allergic to gluten because wheat is supposed to be wild-grown. Today it’s very difficult to find wild-grown wheat. Very few parts of the world has it. The wheat we consume today is genetically modified which means the gluten is not natural. This is why we are allergic to it.
My favorite gluten-free grains to consume are Buckwheat, Quinoa and Rice. I also get my Oatmeal gluten-free. #glutenfree #nutrition #meals #fitness
